CrossFit & Puppies!

CrossFit and puppies, it’s a thing.  Trust me!  I have two labs, Annie + Violet and I helped rescue 10 labs & lab-mix puppies through Love of Labs Indiana in just 7 months!  I grew up with a black lab, Shadow, who was my best friend and acted just like my Violet does!  Needless to say, I love pups.

Why Puppies on a Fitness Blog?!

In my blog, I mostly focus on topics in Fitness, CrossFit, and Mindset, but anyone that knows me- knows my blog wouldn’t be complete without a section dedicated directly to puppies.  I love them so much that I helped rescue more than 10 puppies in just 7 months- and I even kept one.  Read more about that here: My puppy story

Puppy Lessons Learned – What I Needed and What I didn’t!

I brought home my yellow lab, Annie when she was just 8 weeks old.  If would have known then what I know now- I could have saved a lot of money on puppy supplies.  I thought I would get by with just a brush, some cheap shampoo, and crate.  I was so wrong.   It took me a long time to figure out which harness she couldn’t pull me down with, what dog food wouldn’t make her sick, how to get her to stop biting me, which toys she wouldn’t tear up, and what kind of pet bed she wouldn’t destroy.

Of course, Annie had destructive help from her foster sisters along the way.   I wished I would have had this quick list of puppy supplies when I started fostering.  These are all products I am loyal to and recommend for others:
